Book Description:

What The Daily Show is to evening news, The Colbert Report is to personality-driven pundit shows. Colbert brings his sarcastic charm to a half-hour report, tackling the important issues of the day and telling his guests why their opinions are just plain wrong. Stephen stands for truthiness and his American right to copyright that word and claim ownership of it. I AM AMERICA the audiobook, features an all-American cast that includes Paul Dinello, Kevin Dorff, Greg Hollimon, Evie McGee, David Pasquesi, Amy Sedaris, Allison Silverman, Bryan Stack, and Jon Stewart. Stephen Colbert describes his audiobook as a simple audiobook from a simple mind--Stephen Colbert. It is one man's attempt to wedge his brain between hardback covers---in this case CD jackets. In plain conversational language, not to mention the occasional grunt and/or whistle, Stephen explains his take on the most pressing concerns of our culture: Faith, Family...Hygiene. Why now? Stephen fears America has lost its balls and he hopes to re-ballify us. Even the ladies. Ladies can have balls--lady-balls too. Stephen likes to call those "Thatchers." Stephen will show how he got his mammoth swinging sack, with tales of courage and vital documents from his own life: the Mother's Day card he made at age six, disputed credit card bills, putt-putt score cards--all the major milestones. Oh and don't buy this if you don't have any balls! But if you do buy it, you will get them, and then you can buy another copy with a clean conscience.

UROLOGICAL LITERARY MALPRACTICE ?

I read "I AM AMERICA" during a trip in a city bus and the laughing made me pee in my pants. What an embarrassing disaster !

And you know what ? There are no "PEE IN YOUR PANTS" warnings on the book cover !

I hope my urological literary liability attorney is better than Steve's lawyer.

(N.B.: To save time and energy, this is a combination book review and comments on Stephen Colbert's own egotistical book review).

The Truthiness Is In Here.

I just bought I Am America (And So Can You!) last night, so I've only had time to read the front and back cover and inside flaps. That said, I already laughed out loud more times than I did during "Superbad." Run, don't walk to the Shopping Cart and buy this book!

If you don't know what Colbert Nation is....

Get a little inspiration! Just when you may be wondering how much longer you can stand living in a country that airs Fox News 24/7, along comes Stephen Colbert's long awaited diatribe. Reading him rail against homosexuals, liberals and the media is a bit like being back in high school and trying to decide who to vote for on the Student Council. You may realize that while one of the guys is a real ~censored~ bag, he just has that certain "it" factor that you know will make HIM win and you want to make sure you can say you voted for him. You want to be on his side and speak HIS language. Stephen Colbert's character on the Colbert Report is exactly that kind of guy; except that while you are shaking his hand (or reading the words) you are thinking how insane it is that there are people out there thinking like this. You draw from the wellspring of his deep insanity, smiling, nodding, thinking "where will I hide my kids when these people organize?"

And now, in this book, he fleshes out his character in a way that allows us to feel even more intimately linked to his neo-right wing propaganda cause. He begins with an explanation of how he came to be the Man he is today, how he was shaped into the conservative model of greatness that leads the ColbertNation. Be sure that this is nothing BUT the opinion of Stephen Colbert OF the Colbert Report. If you are a fan of the show, you will LOVE the book, as I did, knowing it has no relation to Stephen Colbert the actor who plays the character on the show. If you have no idea what show I am talking about, you'd be best off buying the book and reading it after watching the show on Comedy Central a few times first. IF you read the book and love it without having ever watched the show, God help us.

I am Thrill (and so can you!)

Better than "The Prince" and almost as good as "Life's A Campaign".

I can't wait for Stephen to be interviewed by John and have "the best interview ever!"...but wait, Stephen doesn't troll.
