Default Genki I: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese I - 09-14-2007, 04:53 AM

Format: PDF
ISBN: 9784789010016
May 1999

Genki outlines in 23 structured lessons all the fundamentals of the Japanese language. Abundantly illustrated and containing a wide variety of exercises, Genki is sure to bring vigor to your classroom! Though primarily meant for use in college-level classes, it is also a good guide for independent learners and is a nice resource book for teachers of Japanese. Genki's authors teach at Kansai Gaidai University, which hosts the largest number of North American students spending their junior year in Japan.

Personal Suggestions: Learn hiragana and katakana first, very throughly, in a school year it takes about two months to learn both hiragana and katakana. Make and use flashcards whenever possible, don't just buy flashcards, it writing them yourself. The book has a weird order of things so I suggest doing the kanji section concurrently with the regular stuff. Also, this is the textbook for Japanese III in the school year, but it is very easy because a majority of it has been covered in Japanese I and II.
