This book starts with the bare basics and gently guides you through as the subject matter gets more complex. Very thorough explanations and analogies with a quiz at the end of each chapter to ensure you are up to speed. If that's not enough there is a sectional test every few chapters and a final exam at the end of the book. The author caters to those of us who lack short term memory by re-defining key terms and re-stating key facts (in a way that's beneficial, not superfluous)that may be necessary to continue to later chapters.
