If you've been an affiliate for any time now, you know that the best way to sell a product as an affiliate is to provide your visitor with a great review. You absolutely must give your audience enough information to whet their appetitie and get that click through (and that cookie!).

So your job is to PRE-sell the visitor. It's the merchant's job to SELL the visitor. If you don't do a good job pre-selling, you don't get enough click throughs. Or your conversions are very low because you haven't prepared your visitors for a sale.

Super affiliates agree that the very best pre-sell is a good product review. But we all know it's not easy or quick to write a great product review.

You need to understand the "lingo" for that niche, and you have to understand the product. Which means either buying and using the product yourself, or spending a serious amount of time researching that niche and that particular product.

Say you're a niche affiliate, building small content sites in a variety of industries. Say you want to get into 10 niches, and you want to promote 10 products in each niche each month. Let's also assume that it takes you about an hour to research the niche and the product before you can write a good review - that's 100 hours of your time each month!
