I do not take responsibility for anything that happens to your Wii...you are hacking it at your own risk. Don't blame me if you don't follow the guide & it bricks...I'll tell you how to fix it, but I'm not gonna be legally responsible for anything you do to your own property.
This guide will show you exactly how to install Bannerbomb and all other necessary files to your Wii so you can play even the newest games in backup format. This means you will be able to play Wii games on burnable disks, USB drives, and even SD cards. I uninstalled all homebrew & hacks, reinstalled it all and documented step-by-step in this guide. This is absolutely the most fool-proof, complete guide!!!! If something doesn't work, just try it again, because I got everything to work today. Before we get started, I'd like to say something.... IF YOU HAVE A LU64+ OR NEWER WII DO NOT CONTINUE OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR SYSTEM!!!! How to know if your Wii is LU64+ or newer: ![]() If your serial starts with LU64, 65, etc. then you cant hack your Wii with this guide.....use this one, instead... There are only 3 things required to do this hack: 1. SD card 2. These files: softmod 1 of 2.rar Code:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JWLYVR7G Code:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TB9OJ3U6 Ok, so here is the step-by-step guide. If something fails, start over from the beginning...no biggie ![]() 1. Format your SD card by inserting it in your PC, right click its drive icon, and click format in the pull-down. Select "quick format" file type does not matter, but I prefer FAT32 2. Download both files. Right click file titled "softmod 2 of 2 to your SD card, and select "extract files" from the pulldown. Navigate to your SD card, and click "ok" to extract all the files. 3. Open "softmod 1 of 2" You will notice there are 4 archives contained within this file. Extract the first one to your SD card. 4. Your SD card should now look like this: ![]() 5. Ok, your SD card is all set up. Pop it out of your PC, and into the front slot on your Wii. Ok, now it's time to install bannerbomb and the homebrew channel. 6. If you Wii's not powered on, please do so...now navigate to the Wii options menu in the bottom left of your screen....click Data Management....click Channels....Click the Sd Card tab. You should now be at the screen that shows all the Wii channels stored to your SD card. 7. A message should automatically pop up asking if you'd like to load the boot.elf File....click ok. ![]() If this message does not show up and/or your Wii freezes, no big deal...that's normal there's only one way to find out which to use for your Wii...traial & error . It won't hurt your Wii to try the wrong one. Just extract the next file in "softmod 1 of 2" to your SD card, and keep trying until you get the one that works for you.8. After Bannerbomb is completed, please confirm it has installed by scrolling through the channels on your Wii menu...you should see this one in the list: ![]() If you do, that's great!!! Move to the next step...if not, try again ![]() Ok, now that the HBC is installed, we'll get into the more nitty gritty work.... 9. Now it's time to install preloader...let's open that fresh new Homebrew Channel (aka HBC) 10. You will notice an icon titled "preloader" you want to run this next. It sometimes takes a few seconds to respond, so let it sit & loadat the black warning screen for 5-10 seconds, then click the "1" button on your Wii remote. After it has installed it will automatically restart the Wii. 11. Next will be cIOS36 rev9. This will be run through preloader. To start preloader, power off your Wii, then power it back on. Immediately after pressing the power button hold the reset button down. 12. You should now have a white text menu with a black background on your screen. 13. Scroll down to "load/install file" click 'a' to select it. 14. Select "cIOS36 rev9" by clicking 'a' 15. After the confirmation message pops up, click 'b' to get back to preloader's main menu, and select 'installed file' 16. Click 'a' to continue, and in the next screen select "network install"....wait for it to finish installing ![]() 17. Next step is to install IOS60. You will do this through the HBC. When prompted, click 'B' for no, 'A' for yes. 18. For IOS60, you want to select no (b) for IOS61, yes for IOS60 (a), no for the new shop channel (b), and yes to patch IOS60 (a) 19. Now it's time to install the IOS35 downgrader...you will run this through preloader....restart your console and hold the reset button....select load/install file, then "downgrade IOS35.dol" 20. Select "installed file" in preloader, and the downgrader will start. All you need to do is downgrade with this...the rest is not necessary....so select the first item in the list: downgrade IOS35. 21. This part takes only a few minutes...when it's done, select exit. If you get a black screen filled with a bunch of random numbers & letters, don't worry...just hold the power button until it turns off, then power back on in preloader ![]() 22. Are you in preloader? Good... 23. Now install IOS downgrader and run it...should be self-explanatory by now ![]() 24. Next, load preloader and install "wadmanager 1.4.dol"...select to run the SD card, and scroll down to "WAD manager 14.wad" Click the '+' button to install it, and wait for the confirmation message...when it's done, click the 'home' button. 25. After the WAD manager is installed, open the newly created channel in your Wii menu titled "wad manager" and select "SD card" 26. You will now have a list of WAD files in front of you...please select cIOS v7 by pressing the '+' button. ('+' installs, '-' uninstalls with wad manager.) 27. After the WAD file installs, press the home button to go back to the Wii menu and load HBC one more time. Now you are looking for "cIOSCORP"...open it & tell it to run ![]() 28. One last step....this one will allow you to play the newest backups on your Wii. The IOS files are the ones you will want to keep your eyes out for. If a game JUST released will not run, no matter what you do, it's probably because you need to update your IOS.... 29. So let's do just that. Open preloader then install the cIOS38 rev13.dol file. After it installs, run it, and select to launch IOS249 when prompted. Now, this one is extra, but it's here because it's kind of important too. There are Wii updates placed on some Wii disks, and if you install a system update from a game disk that is not from a region coordinating with your console's region, it will brick (installing an NTSC-U update from a game disk on a PAL Wii, for example)...the best way to stop this from happening is to set the Preloader hacks to keep this from happening. 1. Load preloader...I hope you know how by now :P 2. Select "system menu hacks" 3. Enable everything except: "autoboot game" and "disk autostart" 4. Click "save settings" at the bottom of the screen. 5. Exit to the preloader main menu and scroll to settings. 6. At the bottom of the list youll see System Menu IOS scroll left/right until you see 36 7. Scroll down and click save settings 8. Restart your Wii There!!! You're done!!! You should be able to play all Wii games in backup disk format directly from the disk channel without the need for any other homebrew loaders...most people need them because they didn't follow my guide. Aren't you proud of yourself for being smart enough to do so? HAHA :P |
